Important HOA Maintenance Tips For The Upcoming Summer Season

Golden summer days are just on the horizon, bringing warmer temperatures and all kinds of exciting outdoor activities for your community! With the season almost here, it’s a good time to start preparing your HOA for summer maintenance. Consider the following projects and tips to keep your homeowner’s association in tip-top shape this summer!

Repairs & Maintenance

With beautiful sunny weather and an official end to April showers, the summer season is perfect for outdoor repairs and maintenance to your HOA. These projects often include repaving roads, painting building exterior walls, and pressure washing sidewalks.

Tip: Schedule any repairs and maintenance ahead of time so that the projects can hit the ground running once summer starts!

Landscaping

Spruce up your community with some beautiful summer landscaping this season! Even simple landscaping touches like colorful perennials and shady trees can go a long way in improving how residents feel about their homes and community. So, as the summer weather approaches, consider how you can add some life into the communal spaces around the neighborhood and offer advice to your residents! Some of our favorite plants that thrive in the summer heat include the Rock Rose, Texas Lilac Vitex, Black-eyed Susan, Marigold, and Carnations!

Tip: Encourage your residents to all water their lawns in the mornings to avoid peak summer heat hours that will evaporate the water before it soaks into the grass.

Summer Amenities

Once the season hits, your residents will flock to the pools to cool off after an afternoon in the sun. So, before the summer sun reaches its peak, remember to evaluate and update all of your summer equipment and amenities. Confirm that your sprinkler systems are in good working condition, service all air conditioning units to ensure they are functioning correctly, and consider making energy-efficient upgrades for the season.

Tip: Once these upgrades have been made, consider extending pool and gym hours to accommodate your residents’ needs during the summer months!
