Back To School Tips To Keep Your Home (And Yourself) Organized

As much as we might hate to admit it, another summer season has come to an end, and the kids are heading back to school. With jam-packed schedules and after-school activities, another school year means more busy weeknights and less time to keep your house clean and organized.

Don’t get overwhelmed yet! With the right routines and organization tips, you don’t have to feel like you want to pull your hair out constantly! Let’s dive into some easy organization tips to keep your home *somewhat* organized and yourself sane!

Create A Morning Routine

Creating a routine for the kids will help them remember what they must do daily, and hopefully keep things running smoothly in the morning. Set alarm clocks for the same time every morning and have them do the same series of things at the same time to create a routine that will eventually become a habit.

It’s also important to have a routine for yourself! Waking up early to go to the gym or enjoying your morning coffee in peace will help set your day up for success.

Have A Family Command Center

Have a space in your home that’s essentially a drop zone for all things school-related. Keep all necessary paperwork like homework assignments and field trip forms in one place so you always know where they are. Adding a calendar or bulletin board with important events will help ensure you always know who needs to be where and at what time.

Do Things The Night Before

Anything you can do the night before will automatically help make the mornings run more smoothly. Have an area in your kitchen with pre-packed lunch items so you and the kids can pack their lunches the night before. Setting out their outfits the night before can also help save some time; if you’re ahead of the game, you can plan out outfits for the entire week!

Create Checklists

Checklists are great for kids because they’re a fun way to get things done. To keep things more organized, create checklists for everything, including morning routine and chore checklists. You can even get your kids their favorite colored marker or fun stickers to mark off the items as they’re completed.

Hopefully, by implementing these simple tips, your school days will start on the right foot! If you need any more tips or have questions about the real estate market, reach out to us! We would love to help in any way that we can!
