In a world where everything is digital and online, your HOA should be no different. Staying connected with your residents and keeping them well-informed of what’s going on in your community are important factors in ensuring your HOA is successful.
If you don’t already have a website or Facebook page for your HOA, we would strongly consider having at least one, if not both, for your HOA. Let’s dive into the importance of each and how they can help you connect with your residents and keep them involved in your community.
HOA Website
HOA websites are a great place to keep all critical documents your residents need, including bylaws, CC&Rs, HOA fees, notices, maps, and more. It’s also a great place to put all meeting minutes to improve transparency and let residents know what was discussed at each meeting.
If you have a monthly HOA newsletter, your HOA website is a great place to post those, too.
Your newsletter should include changes to the HOA, upcoming events, ways residents can stay involved, and more. You should also have a resident directory and emergency contact information so it’s easily accessible to the community.
Facebook Page
Social media is a great way to stay connected, so creating a private HOA Facebook page and adding your residents is also a great option. Not only is it an accessible platform for residents to connect with each other, but Board members can see if residents have any concerns or questions they can help with.
If this is a route you want to take, establish rules and guidelines for the HOA Facebook page so residents clearly understand what they can and can’t talk about.
HOA Facebook pages are a great way to keep residents informed of upcoming events, changes in the community, and more.
Regardless of how you choose to stay connected with residents, it’s essential that you do so to ensure a harmonious and happy community.
