According to February 2022 statistics from Realtor.com, of the 27 neighborhoods in Georgetown, Georgian Place and Country Club Acres are the most affordable areas, with median listing prices ranging from $305,500 to $310,000. Berry Creek and Old Town District are the most expensive neighborhoods, with median listing prices ranging from $597,500 to $614,500. That puts 23 different neighborhoods right in the middle of the median!

Low Taxes

Recent information from the City of Georgetown website shows that Georgetown’s current property tax rate is 40.1 cents per $100 valuation.  This property tax rate is among the lowest of all cities in the Austin area, with a population greater than 20,000. The City Council also increased the homestead exemption for 2022 to provide additional taxpayer relief.

Proximity to Major Employers

Top employers in the Williamson County area offer a mix of high tech, manufacturing, utilities, education, agriculture, healthcare, and professional services. There are over 3,000 businesses in Georgetown. Most of those businesses have ten employees or fewer. The success of these small businesses represents a thriving local economy.  

Proximity to Major Cities

Georgetown is in Williamson County and is located 27 miles north of Austin. Additional Cities in Williamson County include Round Rock, Leander, and Cedar Park. San Antonio is about an hour and forty-five-minute drive, with Houston and Dallas roughly two and a half hours away.
